Pulso, the first multi-platform financial news channel in Chile, is born
28 November 2011
Pulso is the first multi-platform financial news channel in Chile. It was launched today, 28 November, with a commitment to innovation and leadership, and with a 'leitmotif' that is a clear declaration: 'Passion for business'. It is lead by Guillermo Turner, former director of the Diario Financiero and one of the most prestigious business journalists in the country. And it bears the Copesa brand, the same group that publishes La Tercera. Errea Comunicación has worked closely with Turner and his team over recent months to shape the product now in circulation in print, on-line (www.pulso.cl) and on smartphones and tablets. At the moment, is the only media company in the country with an application specifically developed for iPad, which is available for free download.
Pulso in its print form is distributed Monday through Friday. It is a succinct, full-color daily (48 pages) in a fast-to-read format specifically designed for the businessperson: executive summaries, the bottom line, the keys, ultra-brief analysis. It is structured in three main areas (Business & Markets, Money & The Economy and News & Politics), each identified by a color, integrating national and international news to provide a global perspective on the issues. On-line, Pulso updates news and economic and market indicators in real-time.
The Pulso graphic design is based on legibility and on the elegant, classic look of the modern typographies of Tiempos (Kris Sowersby) and Neue Haas Grotesk, a redrafting of Helvetica, created by Christian Schwartz. On the frame of a functional and measured lay-out, the project incorporates a vivid palette of colors, formats and resources akin to those of social networks.
Over forty specialized journalists make up the team that is based in the heart of Santiago’s financial district. In addition to Turner, the management of the Pulso project has been in the hands of Jose Antonio Ferris of Spain, former head of expansion in America for El País.
